800,000 Workers Join Drumbeat of Support for de León

Los Angeles, CA – Securing yet another key endorsement in his race to represent the Los Angeles City Council’s 14th District, the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO today threw its support behind Kevin de León’s candidacy.

Ron Herrera, President of the LA Fed, released the following statement: “Kevin de León has long been a champion for working families - in Los Angeles, and across the state. For more than a decade, he’s fought with us to make sure workers earn a living wage, are treated fairly, and can retire with dignity. In the City Council, we know he’ll keep fighting just as hard to make sure the 14th District is the best place for our families to live, work, and play.”

The Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO represents more than 300 unions, and 800,000 hardworking men and women. Over the last century, the LA Fed has been on the front lines - from raising the minimum wage to fighting for affordable housing to empowering workers to make better lives for themselves and their families.

The LA Fed joins a strong coalition of local unions in supporting de León’s campaign, including:

  • Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 121 RN
  • SEIU Local 2015
  • SEIU Local 721
  • Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters
  • International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) Local 13
